SAFIRE: Leadership development for young Asian women
SAFIRE encourages young Asian women in Oakland, California to develop greater awareness of themselves as part of family and community. SAFIRE participants engage in organizing, political education and Forward Stance (mind body approach to social change) activities to build inner strength and be effective activists and leaders for reproductive justice and Strong Families. SAFIRE is collecting stories from their families and other young people on a variety of issues that impact them, including immigration, climate change, teen pregnancy and parenting, the criminal justice system, racism, sexism and body image.
