Via BART

Take a BART train that will bring you to the 12th Street/Oakland City Center station. At 12th Street/Oakland City Center station, go to street level using the 14th Street exit to station (at Broadway Street). At the top of the stairs to the station, proceed down 14th Street to Broadway. At Broadway turn right. Proceed down Broadway until you reach 1440 Broadway on the right. 

If taking an elevator, after exiting the BART train board elevator towards the 11th Street exit to the concourse level, then take a second elevator by the Frank Ogawa Plaza exit that will bring you to Broadway and 14th Street.  Cross the street to the opposite side of Broadway and turn left down Broadway.  1440 Broadway will be on the right.   

Via Car

From San Francisco

  1. Take 101 S toward 80 E/Oakland/San Jose.
  2. Take exit on the left onto 80 E towards Bay Bridge/Oakland.
  3. Take exit onto 580 E toward CA-24/Hayward/Stockton.
  4. Take exit toward Downtown Oakland/980 W
  5. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for 27th St/W Grand Avenue and merge onto Northgate Avenue.
  6. Turn left at W Grand Avenue.
  7. Take the first right onto Telegraph Avenue
  8. Continue onto Broadway (1440 Broadway will be on your left).

From the North Bay

  1. Take 101 S via the ramp to San Francisco/Oakland.
  2. Take exit toward 580 E.
  3. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Francisco Boulevard E.
  4. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for 580 and merge onto 580 E.
  5. Take exit toward Downtown Oakland/980 W.
  6. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for 27th Street/W Grand Avenue and merge onto Northgate Avenue.
  7. Turn left at W Grand Avenue.
  8. Take the first right onto Telegraph Avenue.
  9. Continue onto Broadway (1440 Broadway will be on the left).

From the South Bay

  1. Take 880 N via the ramp to Oakland.
  2. Take exit toward Broadway/Downtown.
  3. Merge onto 6th Street.
  4. Turn right at Broadway (1440 Broadway will be on the right).

From the Peninsula

  1. Take 92 E ramp to San Mateo Bridge/Hayward.
  2. Merge onto 92 E.
  3. Take 880 N exit toward Oakland.
  4. Keep left at the fork to continue toward 880 N and merge onto 880 N.
  5. Take exit toward Broadway/Downtown.
  6. Merge onto 6th Street.
  7. Turn right at Broadway (1440 Broadway will be on the right).

Parking Options

Street Parking
Parking in Downtown Oakland is tight, but most streets offer metered parking with time limits ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Most meters are multi-space kiosks which accept credit cards and coins, while some are traditional single-space coin-op meters which only take coins. Time limits are strictly enforced by Parking Enforcement.
